SPORTFIT

With excitement building for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, many BC communities are using SportFit to engage their citizens during Torch Relay celebrations and events leading up to the Games.

SportFit is a unique, interactive Olympic and Paralympic sport discovery experience which features eight fun, non-competitive activity stations. Participants complete a short online survey about their personal preferences, and SportFit matches their abilities and preferences to generate a personalized certificate listings three summer and three winter sports that may suit their abilities and interests.

SportFit will be part of the Torch Relay celebrations in the following BC communities: Abbotsford, Kamloops, Kelowna, Nelson, Osoyoos, Port Hardy, Prince George, Revelstoke, Salmon Arm, Terrace, and Vancouver. For dates and more information, please visit www.sportfitcanada.com/news.

2010 LEGACIES NOW MOVING FORWARD

In the coming months, 2010 Legacies Now will begin to transition to a new business model.  As we do so, some of our programs will transfer to our partners to continue their work in communities around B.C.

Moving beyond the 2010 Winter Games, our new model will enable us to offer financial and strategic support to the organizations we partner with, while focusing on accountability and measurable results for our investors and supporters. 2010 Legacies Now will continue to advance social change and support social innovation on a national scale.
