HOW WE SUPPORT HIGH-PERFORMANCE SPORT

All over B.C., promising athletes with the commitment and drive to pursue high-performance goals have access to training programs and support to help them reach the podium.

When B.C. won the bid to host the 2010 Winter Games, the Province of British Columbia and 2010 Legacies Now launched Game Plan BC to prepare winter athletes in 17 sports. The goal: use this investment in winter sport to see more B.C. athletes on national and Olympic and Paralympic teams, and on the medal podium in 2010 and beyond.

Since 2003, Game Plan BC has supported coaching, training and competition for more than 400 winter athletes each year. Canadian Sport Centre Pacific manages the Game Plan BC program and works closely with the B.C. provincial sport organizations and other partners to ensure the investment supports top-level provincial athletes, as well as up-and-coming athletes.

B.C. athletes are developing the skills they need to one day compete on the world stage. 2010 Legacies Now and its partners in the sport sector are working in tandem to help these B.C. athletes achieve their dreams. To learn more please visit 2010LegaciesNow.com.
